Our hips store a lot of tension and if you sit at a desk for work, chances are you probably have tight hips.
This month’s focus: Lateral Hip Muscles
When hip flexors and rotators become tight, muscles in this area become weak, which negatively affects our posture and stability in the spine. Stretching these muscles helps to:
- relieve tension
- improve range of motion
- build strength
- improve circulation
- avoid hip and back pain
Our very own Dimitra Kotanides will teach you how to use SMFR (self myofascial release) to help stimulate the stretch reflex in these muscles and lengthen connective tissue + how to incorporate hip opener poses into your yoga practice. This month’s focus is on the LATERAL hip muscles. All levels welcome! Open to members and non-members.
