Ayurveda – What is it and how can it enhance my life?
More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vibrant and healthy while realizing their full human potential.
Freedom from illness depends upon expanding our own awareness, bringing it into balance, and then extending that balance to the body.
Alex will discuss the fundamentals of Ayurveda and the three doshas: vata (air and ether), pitta (fire and water), and kapha (earth and water). Students will learn how these three doshas work together to form our individual constitution, known as Prakruti, and will be introduced to simple ayurvedic self-care practices and postures to enhance health and restore balance to body, mind, and spirit.
