Restore: to return something to an earlier condition by repairing it.
Many of us get caught up in striving to get better – with our yoga practice and with life in general.
Restorative yoga is about letting your body and mind unwind. It’s more of an meditation practice than a movement practice.
With the assistance of props, we will hold supported passive postures for a few minutes each, using no muscular effort. The focus is on releasing the grip of muscular and inner tension so you can be more spacious and receptive. Explore what happens when you slowly release unnecessary habitual tension in the body and mind.
This is a deeply nurturing and healing practice. It is a powerful tonic for the overtaxed mind, the overwhelmed heart, or the stressed spirit. It is also a particularly therapeutic form of practice and is useful in the recovery of physical ailments.
Please dress in layers for the class as your body temperature drops in the meditative states. Socks, long sleeve shirts, and full-length pants are recommended for this quieting practice.
Appropriate for all levels. Open to members and non-members.
Due to the numerous props we use for this workshop, the number of participants is limited. Enroll early to get your spot!
