Restore: to return something to an earlier condition
by repairing it.
When your life is racing full-speed ahead, so is your mind. Restorative yoga helps provide that physical and mental balance to prevent stress and anxiety. With the assistance of props (bolsters, blocks, blankets), we will hold supported passive postures for a few minutes each, using no muscular effort.
After one hour of Restorative yoga with Dimitra, we will move into savasana (corpse pose) and enjoy a Sound Bath Meditation with visiting certified Tibetan sound healers Jessi & Dave. A Sound Bath can help you reduce stress and anxiety, impact the human nervous system and decrease blood pressure. It will help you to tune out thoughts and take your meditation practice to new depths.
Open to members and non-members. Prior yoga experience is not necessary. This is a good yoga practice for anyone who has a hard time slowing down, who has experienced insomnia or who struggles with anxiety. Due to the numerous props we use for this workshop, the number of participants is limited. Enroll early to reserve your spot!
We suggest you dress in layers, as your body temperature drops in the meditative state. Socks, long sleeve shirts, and full-length pants are recommended for this quieting practice.
