Restorative Yoga: a deeply nurturing & healing practice
It is a powerful tonic for the overtaxed mind, the overwhelmed heart, or the stressed spirit. It is also a particularly therapeutic form of practice and is useful in the recovery of physical ailments. We will utilizes props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps to allow the body to release and relax completely. This practice is beneficial but is especially supportive to those in the process of actively healing.
Our session will conclude with a gentle, imaginative & guided relaxation practice of Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is a systematic method for total relaxation. It is also referred to as “Sleep of the Yogis”, “Zero Stress Zone” and “Relaxing into Greatness.” You’ll be guided into a familiar state of mental twilight between wakefulness and sleep. Practitioners of Yoga Nidra describe a floating feeling of luscious comfort, safety, and well-being, and have a decreased sense of linear time passing.
